Yup, Isley’s back!!
Helen and Deneve’s fight with Isley was suddenly interrupted by the arrival of several mutated forms. Lashing out, Helen thought she’ll make quick work of them but her mistake cost her an arm.
Were it not for Deneve’s quick intervention, Helen could have lost her eye. With the beast distracted, the wounded Claymore quickly retrieved her missing limb and moved away from the battle to regenerate it.
But even Deneve underestimated its speed, winding up with her back wide open. She was about to be stabbed when Dietrich pierced the Demon in the back. Learning from her previous encounter, she commanded the other two to be still.
Unsurprisingly, her advice worked and the being moved onto larger prey, Isley.
While the Claymores were fighting, Isley managed to kill three of them…
But that optimistic thought was vanquished by the Demons rapidly regenerating and moving to attack once more. Isley wasted no time with a counter.
Seeing that they would be caught in the midst of an even larger battle, Dietrich chose to flee.
Once at a safe distance, Dietrich began to explain what those monstrousities were. The ones that took Helen’s eye were created by the Organization specifically for the Abysmal ones. Using the flesh of awakened beings, a new breed of warriors were borne.
Those eleven… are called Abyss Feeders.
Seeing Isley return with his fully awakened form is nothing short of pure bliss for a Claymore fan like me. Sure, Clare may be the underdog winner, Teresa is unmatched in power (though… she’s kinda dead), and Miria has that leader role but none of them could compare in looks to Isley’s true form.
Seeing the Demons attack makes me wonder why the Organization bothered making them if they already had Alicia and Beth. If they felt threatened enough to use such wild and collateral-heavy warriors, I guess it means that they’re very desperate. Speaking of which, the twins haven’t appeared in a while. I suspect that they’re saved for whenever Miria and company assault the Organization as some trump card.
As for Isley and this new development, I’m pretty sure he’ll be able to escape. He’s just too valuable of a character to sacrifice and there remains the question of how Priscilla strayed from his care. He might be maimed pretty badly since he’s up against 11 Abysmal level monsters but since he’s the strongest of the three, he has a good chance for survival.
