Code Breaker – Chapter 11

An Unforgettable Number of People

What is real justice? Is it killing evil… with evil?

Brief Summary

Sakura was going to stop Oogami when a hand reached out and held her back. From one of the beds nearby, one of the victims begged for Tabata’s death, saying that his son was slaughtered for organs. Though confused, she still tried to move forward only to have Toki hug her and show her a manga, telling her that the hero is the one that kills evil

Before Oogami could carry out the execution, his body was suddenly slashed from all directions. Two bodyguards revealed themselves and admitted that they were also the surgeons who removed the patients’ organs.

Taunting the Code Breaker’s close range powers, the two Spetsnaz gleefully slashed away, even going to far as to recount their experiences with the man’s son.

But Oogami had nothing to fear. Stopping them with a glare, he proceeded to make a giant flame, creating a miniature tornado.

He also brought peace to the man who lost his organs and his son.

Making his way to Tabata, Oogami grabbed the politician’s head… but before he could do anything, a young girl intrudes upon the scene.

Impressions

I suspected something like that to happen. Tabata was made to look too much of a bad guy… and there’s always a catch when it’s that obvious. I doubt his daughter’s arrival would change the outcome too much but it might foretell of more Sakura vs. Oogami morals. I’m pretty sure that Tabata will die… but his daughter… well, I’m not too sure about that. She could die for the sake of her father… or by Toki just finishing up loose ends. On the (hopelessly) optimistic side, Tabata would be spared and Sakura gets to Oogami with her words. Everyone would live happily ever after until the next job. Likelihood of that happening: 0.000002%.

Puppy had just… one panel. I wish it had more page time.

Spetsnaz? Seriously? I should have known that such a wild-card element would be thrown in. Such is the fate of most shounen manga. There’s nothing bad with the concept… but it was a real bump in the otherwise smooth plot. I just hope there’s not so much of this in future chapters…

  1. Ack…this chapter is sick. I find it lame that two super speed characters (the surgeons) appear all of the sudden to fight and with scissors, omg =_=”. I wonder whether we will be seeing more of those super humans in the upcoming few chapters? O_o

I guess….The girl might be a trap and might have some wheel chair super power (super wheel chair-er) judging from the unexpectedness nature of the plot for Code Breakers.

  2. Poor teddy bear T_T
