Bang!

The end of Elfen Lied?

Brief Summary

From the previous chapter, Lucy was facing death as Kurama had a gun pointed at her face.

Remembering the promise she made to Kouta, the diclonius was resigned to her fate, only lamenting that she forgot to confess properly.

But… it wasn’t.

Another personality showed itself, ridiculing the human emotions that would have led to her death.

Surprised that she was still alive, Lucy quickly despaired as she realized that the promise was broken.

Impressions

Not surprising the way things turned out. I thought the setup for her would-be death was a bit too perfect. The only surprise was how Lucy had another personality that came out just to save herself, one that she didn’t know about. As for the last page, I was just waiting for Murphy’s Law to kick in… and it did, with Kouta arriving at the worst possible moment.

Overall, pretty average chapter that had most people thinking that Lucy died… when she didn’t. As the series winds down, I’m at a lost to how the author would tie everything up, especially with the new personality that just came out.
