Spring 2008 Anime OP/ED Reviews – Part 7

Presenting… Kokuun’s one and only… Anime OP/ED Reviews

After being shamed for giving wrong information and waiting for Episode 9 of Code Geass R2 to be subbed, I present the next series to be reviewed. I almost forgot about this one until it got subbed this morning. After watching it, I’m quite pleased with its progress and hope to see much more of it in the future.

Enjoy!

Ninjuu-Mensou no Musume (Chiko – Heiress of the Phantom Thief)

OP title: Kasumi
Artist: 369

Very peaceful but also suspenseful. The song has a journeying theme to it, as if someone was not merely moving toward a certain destination but also finding a piece of him/herself. Quite fitting since the series is about Chiko finding the Phantom Thief. The animation is simple but powerful once you watch the show. Elements of the life that she once had, the past life that she longs for before a sudden event destroyed that happiness. Very nice.

Rating: 8/10

ED title: Unnamed World
Artist: Aya Hirano

Just like the before, it’s quite simple yet good. Personally, I didn’t like the song as much as the OP’s. As for the animation, it focuses on Chiko, her friend in school, and a maid who worked in her house. I’m guessing that those three will make up the detective agency in search of the Phantom Thief. Overall, nice but not up to par with the OP.

  1. After seeing the OP for Ninjuu-Mensou no Musume, I tried to scout for the anime but failed to find it online. Any tips? (:

  2. Ninjuu-Mensou no Musume seems to be better known by its English name: “Chiko – Heiress of the Phantom Thief” or “20 Face’s Daughter”. See if those alternative titles work better.

  3. Ah thank you, I found it under the alternative titles. (:

  4. […] was browsing the many OP/ED Reviews by ffviiknight and that’s when I saw the OP for Nijuu Mensou no Musume. I found the OP rather interesting and thought, “Cool! I’ll give it a try.” […]
