Where’s the Nyan-Nyan dance?
It just doesn’t feel the same. Not like the anime was any better.
Highlights
As you may have guessed, it’s an adaptation of the animated series that aired in 2008. This is one of those rare instances where the manga came after the anime. However, it follows the same unofficial rule of “all adaptations suck in comparison to the original”.
Never did like Sheryl. With this noticeable drop in quality, I don’t think I’ll like her here either…

Her eyes in the upper right pane… lulz
At least Ranka’s kept to character… though I don’t remember her having K-On!’s Mugi Vision…

pantsu…

And this is where doujinshi comes in…
The gore is toned down. Gilliam’s death wasn’t being squished in the invading Vajra’s claws and having his blood rain down on the streets. Instead, it was rather peaceful.

But they kept the Ozma punch. That… I approve of.

Overall, a forgetful read if you haven’t watched the anime. If you have, then you might want to stick to those episodes instead of going through these horridly drawn pages. On the bright side, this isn’t as bad as Katsu Aki’s The Vision of Escaflowne but they do share the same author.

Man, just seems like they’re trying to milk it. Also, no Hooray for Zero G moment with Sheryl.
This. Do not want.
